Hey, guys! If you missed the introductory post to the 10-step guide to creating a strategic list of employers to target for graduate jobs, click here to catch up (and please also take the polls included in that post). For those who are up to date—thanks!
You’ll find the names of the 150+ graduate employers split between the following distinct sub-lists, which are both provided in this post:
A list of the top 100 UK graduate employers (many of the employers on this list also recruit heavily in the US and other countries)
A list of 50+ additional (UK & US) top graduate employers
With both sub-lists in your arsenal*, you’ll gain access to a comprehensive and diverse selection of over 150 top graduate employers, maximising your opportunities to find the best graduate programs and job openings.
*Yes, this is absolutely a shameless excuse to reference Arsenal, my beloved football team, lol.
I’ve provided different versions of the lists to accommodate various search preferences. For example, you can choose to browse the employers alphabetically or by industry groups.
I encourage you to explore the different versions of the lists and consider how you can use the information provided (such as the range of industries and number of job openings a specific employer has reserved for students and recent graduates) to start constructing your list of graduate employers to target.
As highlighted in the introductory post of the 10-step guide, there are hundreds of graduate employers, and attempting to apply to each one would be overwhelming and inefficient (to say the least). Therefore, it’s prudent to carefully select a subset of employers to target.
Please take your time to work through this first step of the 10-step guide independently for now. I will follow up in a separate post with specific guidance and suggestions on some of the best ways to tackle the lists.
In the meantime, feel free to reach out to me via the comments section or by sending me a DM if you have any questions.
If you’re a premium subscriber to this newsletter, you have exclusive access to the Google Sheet version of the 150+ graduate employers list provided in this post. The Google Sheet version allows you to manipulate the data, enabling you to quickly and easily create different graduate employer target lists to consider. The Google Sheet also has information beyond that provided in this post. For instructions on accessing the Google Sheet, click here.
If you’re not a premium subscriber or if you only require the names of the employers, their respective industries, and the number of vacancies reserved for students and recent graduates and would rather view this information in the format presented in this post rather than in a Google Sheet format, carry on!
And if you know anyone else who might find the list of 150+ top graduate employers provided in this post helpful, please share it with them!
Top 100 UK Graduate Employers
This is a trusted and well-regarded annual ranking of UK graduate employers. I look out for it every year. The ranking is reported by The Times, which describes the list as ‘Britain’s most sought-after and prestigious graduate employers.’
Many of the employers on this list also recruit heavily in the US and other countries.
One of the best features of this ranking is its focus on the number of jobs the graduate employers have reserved for students and recent graduates. In fact, I’ve never paid much attention to this list's ‘most sought-after and prestigious’ ranking and have primarily used this list to (a) discover graduate employers and (b) get an idea of the number of vacancies on offer.
To cater to different search preferences, I’ve included three versions of the list: (Version 1) The employers are listed alphabetically, with their rank as ‘Britain’s most sought-after and prestigious graduate employers’ in parentheses; (Version 2) The employers are grouped by their core industry and then listed alphabetically; (Version 3) The employers are listed in descending order by the number of UK positions reserved for students and recent graduates.

50+ Additional Top Graduate Employers (UK & US)
Curated by Keep, Ding, Ghost (i.e., me), this supplementary list features over 50 top UK and US graduate employers.
The main objective of this post is to identify the leading graduate employers. Since rankings frequently change, an employer’s specific rank in a given year is not definitive. Thus, instead of focusing on yearly ranks, I concentrate on employers generally regarded as top employers, even if they are not in the top 100 in a particular year, as being missed out on a ranking does not alone diminish one’s reputation as a ‘top graduate employer’. As such, I reviewed The Times’ top 100 lists from the past six years to identify previously ranked employers not included in this year’s top 100. These employers are featured in this supplementary list of 50+ additional top graduate employers.
Additionally, the Times’ top 100 list omits several other notable graduate employers because the ranking is based on those ‘most sought after’ by students and recent graduates, who can only name employers they are familiar with. Thus, lesser-known but highly respected employers may not make the list if too few students and graduates are aware of them. Drawing on my extensive experience as a job applicant and recruiter, this curated supplementary list also includes a selection of top graduate employers chosen for the quality of their graduate job opportunities, esteemed company reputation, and overall prestige.
This supplementary list also extends beyond The Times’ top 100 list by including new industries, such as fintech, luxury goods, and private equity/alternative investments.
This broader coverage ensures you have a wider range of high-quality graduate employers to consider.
To cater to different search preferences, I’ve included two versions of the list: (Version 1) The employers are listed alphabetically, and if the data is available, the number of UK positions that were reserved for students and recent graduates in the last known graduate recruitment year is included in parentheses; (Version 2) The employers are grouped by their core industry and then listed alphabetically.
